Barbaras Buch
OMAi gathered an international team of artists, musicians, and writers to present a show for the grand opening of the new location of Munich Public Library at HP8 hall.
About this project
On November 19, 2021, the interim location of the Munich Public Library at HP8 was ceremoniously opened. OMAi gathered an international team of artists, musicians, and writers to develop a show for the opening, inviting visitors to embark on a luminous journey through the universe of the library with "Barbara's Buch".
The protagonist of the live animated light paintings is a shy girl called Barbara, who usually hides under an upside-down cup. One day, she sets off on a journey to discover the world. She records all the mysteries and adventures she encounters in her travel diary - Barbara's book.
OMAi also collaborated with Marcus Neustetter to craft a unique and handmade art book, the original "Barbaras Buch," containing artefacts, paintings created during the rehearsals and show, and photos documenting the development process and the performance at the library.
An OMAi production for Munich Public Library.
