After Stravinski's Firebird, OMAi returned to Musikverein to create interactive stage projections for Sergej Prokofjew's ballett Cinderella. The production was presented four times on March 1st and 2nd 2025 at the historic Brahms Hall.
Once upon a time, there was a kind-hearted girl who stayed true to herself and, along the way, found the love of her life. Every day, Cinderella endures the torments of her stepmother and stepsisters. But with the help of quirky pigeons, a grumpy hazel tree, and a unconventional dancing shoe, the girl overcomes countless adventures and bravely sets out for a brighter future. As part of a Prokofiev focus at the Musikverein and following the success of their last production, The Firebird, the same creative team brings another classic tale from the treasure trove of world fairy tales to life. With virtuosic piano music, captivating narration, enchanting ballet interludes, and live-animated video projections, Cinderella, the girl covered in ashes, is reimagined in this version of the Grimm Brothers’ original tale—exciting, poetic, and full of humour.
